harrisonburg parklet (2013)

In conjunction with First Fridays, the Harrisonburg Parklet Project is a community event where artists, designers, and citizens transform parking spots into temporary public parks.

The following was typed, printed, laminated, mounted and prominently displayed for informational purposes:

I don’t know when or how the front door that has been the front door since before I have moved into my house got to be the front door of my house.
I imagine when it was brought from the door store to my house it went straight to the perfectly constructed door sized hole in the front of the house, was installed and has been doing a great job ever since.
Today I have taken the front door off of my house and brought it her to Harrisonburg’s second annual Parklett event where I am a participant and this is my parklet.
When the event is over I will reintroduce and reinstall the front door to my house, but this time it will be brought into the house through the back door, pass through my kitchen and living room and reinstalled in its usual place as the front door of my house.
